This is the best Marina. Everything is laid back. You feel like you are in another world.

It's unfortunate that this marina is going to the dogs, as it is absolutely one of the most brilliant spots on the south of Lake Champlain. The location is stunning, and the rates are quite frankly the most reasonable on the lake. It is the oldest continuously operating marina in the US. However, there is no attention to detail getting any work done. In the two years that I had my boat there -- which I purchased from the marina's owner, it suffered massive damage through inattention and hurry-up work ethics. Chip, the mechanic, does everything in a rush. There is no attention to detail. Besides, the marina politics are nasty. I came to the place simply looking to sail my boat and keep out of people's way. I found myself accused of having sex with various people during an employee crisis, including with a person who was physically assaulted by one of the owner's family members. I didn't come to have sex, I came to sail, and that's what I did. Chipman Point is rather fortunate to have avoided a lawsuit at this juncture. If you want to put your boat in against a situation of conflict, rumor, and bad service, you'll find that the prices are inexpensive. For my dollar, they are far too high by half. Truth, honor, and good ethics count, and you won't find them here.
